Caries Management Modalities – Fluoride, ITR and PRRs

Mechanisms of action and treatment options of fluorides, ITRs, and PRRs for pediatric patients.

You will learn how to:

  • Understand the mechanism of fluoride in the demineralization process and remineralization process (stabilizing saliva acidic environment, absorption in the tooth creating fluorapatite).
  • Learn about in-office and at-home toothpaste recommendations of fluoride.
  • Each of the supplemental modalities has its own mechanism of action and role in preventing the development of caries, or stabilizing existing demineralization areas on the tooth structures
